Next Step Services

Hope Counseling Center

of Victory Ministries provides clinical-counseling services for the disadvantaged in Central Ohio. A holistic approach for a healthier lifestyle.

The Goal: The primary goal of the Hope Counseling Center is to provide critically needed mental-health services to Victory Ministries' clients on a full-time basis. HCC regularly treats a broad range of conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma related disorders, schizophrenia, and other psychological maladies. Many clients are treated for conditions resulting from abuse, violence and oppression. Through the Hope Counseling Center, individuals and families will be one step closer to achieving greater independence and healthier lives.

Cost: Services are provided "free of charge" or low-cost due to the generosity of individuals, corporate and church donors and private foundation gifts.

Collaboration: Beginning in 2005, the Hope Counseling Center became an internship site for students working on their Masters Degree in Clinical Pastoral Counseling through Ashland Theological Seminary. A licensed counselor supervisor prepares the student-trainees to become exceptional, experienced clinical counselors. Currently, the Hope Counseling Center consists of one full-time Professional Clinical Counselor on staff, one volunteer Professional Clinical Counselor and two student interns.

Program Director:  The Hope Counseling Center operates under the direction of Kay Kasberg, PCC. She is a licensed clinical pastoral counselor with a Master’s Degree from ATS and was previously the founder and director of an educational program that helped impoverished children. kay@victoryministriescolumbus.org

Social Worker Services

A crucial need at Victory Ministries is to secure funding to hire a part-time social worker. Social worker consultations for our clients will include economic solutions, budget counseling and spiritual support. The object of these personal consultations is to help clients evaluate their current situation and find innovative solutions in helping them achieve self-sufficiency. The social worker will focus on networking, problem solving, and crisis management. Clients face daily emergencies such as: homelessness, eviction, utility shut-offs, ex-offender re-instatement, etc. One of the priorities of the social worker will be homelessness prevention; we want to stop the problem before it happens.
We are accepting applications from individual student-interns needing to complete credit hours for their undergraduate or graduate degrees.  If interested please email phyllis@victoryministriescolumbus.org or call 614-252-2500.
