Annual Outreach Programs

Operation Pure Religion makes deliveries of food baskets to elderly shut-ins all over Columbus each year at Christmas. This is a fantastic way to involve the entire family in a meaningful giving experience. You will always remember the joy you brought to these precious seniors in our community. OPR will be held on Saturday, December 10th, 2011 and will begin at 9:45 a.m. at Victory Ministries' location.

Christmas Family Outreach - There is no better way to live the true meaning of Christmas than to those in need at this time of year. It takes an army of volunteers to pull off one of the most gratifying events held in Columbus, Ohio each year; the giving away of 1,100 Christmas food baskets and 3,000 brand new toys to children and families in need. We need volunteers to help us with Outreach preparations Dec 5th-16th. This year the CFO will be held December 15th, 2011 at Rhema Christian Center (2100 Agler Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43224).

Toys For Joy – Victory Ministries annual toy drive has a goal this year to collect 2,500 brand new toys. With the help of our main sponsor, LifeWay Christian Stores and other supporters, we believe we can reach our goal and bring a smile to the faces of hundreds of needy children (0-12 years of age). Toy collections begin on November 12th and end December 9th, 2011. If you would like to collect or donate toys for distribution at the Christmas Family Outreach, please email us.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the backbone of this ministry. It takes thousands of volunteer hours each year to deliver our services in a specialized and compassionate way. Giving back to those in need is the language of kindness.

Daily at Victory Ministries – 10 am to 4 pm, weekdays. Bag groceries, sort & distribute clothing, food pick-ups, sign-in, etc. Can you volunteer one afternoon a month? We can use you to assist needy families – excellent for homeschoolers and college students.

Operation Pure Religion – One Saturday morning each month packing groceries for delivery to elderly individuals on a fixed-income, shut-ins and the handicapped. This is an ideal ministry opportunity for a church small group; call our office to sign up.

Special Projects – Sorting clothing, cleaning, maintenance of the facility, painting, etc. Special projects are arranged as requested for small groups on Thursday evenings or weekends.

Free Medical Clinic – Second Thursday of each month from 6:00-8:30 p.m. We are in need of medical professionals and others who can volunteer as prayer partners, administration, hospitality, etc. Contact janice@victoryministriescolumbus.org to get involved.

Literacy NOW Tutoring – are you interested in tutoring a 1st or 2nd grade student in reading at Cassady Alternative Elementary School during one lunch hour (Tues, Wed or Thurs) each week October through May? There are so many students in need of a loving tutor. Contact joanna@victoryministriescolumbus.org if interested.

Collection Opportunities

Bag Hunger Food Drives - 1 in 6 children face hunger everyday in Ohio. We can change that! By holding a food drive once a year, a local church can address hunger in a very practical way. Bag Hunger grocery bags, shopping lists, & signage are available though our office. Contact Joanna to schedule a Bag Hunger food drive joanna@victoryministriescolumbus.org.

School Supply Giveaway - We help over 600 children each school year with new school supplies. We begin collections in July and treat the parents who visit us in August with new school supplies for all of their children. Host a school supply drive in your church today! Contact Phyllis for details phyllis@victoryministriescolumbus.org.

Mother’s Day Outreach – We provide collections of bath and beauty products and small gifts for the ladies who visit us prior to Mother’s Day each year. This show of special love shown to our client ladies has softened many hearts towards the Lord. Collections are in March for distribution in April.

Clothing Donations- Victory Mission gives away over 50,000 pounds of clothing a year. Clean seasonal clothing can be dropped off during our hours of operation 10-4 weekdays (please call before you come). We always need children's clothing, especially for boys.
